'The Crown' Season 5 Casts Dominic West’s Son as Prince William
Dominic West and son Sean are set to star as the royal father-son duo.
Set to release on November 2022, Netflix's The Crown Season 5 will consist of a new star-studded cast, including Elizabeth Debicki who will play Princess Diana and Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth. Producers of the show announced Dominic West has been cast to play Prince Charles, succeeding Josh O'Connor's award-winning role, as well as West's son Sean who will play Prince William which will be his debut role.
The new season is reportedly set to cover the events that unfolded during the '90s, including the tragic death of Princess Diana in 1997, when the young Prince William was just 15 years old. Peter Morgan, the creator of the Netflix hit, hinted that the sixth and final season is set to end around the year 2012, the year of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
In addition to casting the father-son duo, notable newcomers to the cast include Lesley Manville, who will succeed Helena Bonham-Carter in the role of Princess Margaret, and Jonathan Pryce, taking over the part of Prince Philip from Tobias Menzies. Producers of the show have also confirmed Johnny Lee Miller to play the role of former British Prime Minister John Major who was in office from 1990 to 1997.
