How to Stream the New 'Euphoria' Episode Early
While Euphoria's next season isn't quite here yet, HBO Max users can stream the final of two special episodes early this Friday. The episode, which premieres on HBO this Sunday, follows Jules Vaughn's (Hunter Schafer) perspective after the events of the season one finale.
In a short trailer released on the show's Instagram, Jules acknowledge's her close relationship with Rue Bennett (Zendaya). "Rue was the first girl that didn’t just look at me," she narrates. "She saw me: the 'me' thats under a million layers of 'not me.'"
In March 2020, just as filming was set to begin on the hit show's second season, the COVID-19 pandemic shut down production, leaving millions of fans wondering when their favorite characters would be returning to their TV screens. Luckily, in October, news broke that the show's creator Sam Levinson would be producing two special episodes to fill the gap between seasons.
In the first special episode, titled "Trouble Don't Last Always," the audience sees Rue Bennett in the aftermath of her cliffhanger overdose. While spending Christmas with her family, she struggles to cope with Jules leaving town, as well as her own drug addiction. Though Rue daydreams about a life with Jules living in a big city, during a frank discussion with her NA sponsor (Colman Domingo), the two unpack the trauma surrounding her addiction.
Part one of the series special is now streaming on HBO Max. Part two, titled "Fuck Anyone Who's Not a Sea Blob," premieres on HBO Sunday, January 24. HBO Max subscribers will receive early access on Friday, January 22 at 9 p.m EST/ 6 p.m. PST.
