August has proven to be a big month for Selenators.

First, Season 3 of Only Murders In The Building was finally released, in which the multi-hyphenate serves as a leading actor and co-executive producer. Then, the pop star announced she will be releasing her new single, "Single Soon, soon — on August 25 to be exact. Now, Selena Gomez is rumored to be playing Linda Ronstadt in an alleged biopic.

The speculation first sparked in July, according to gossip site Showbiz 411. Allegedly, producer James Keach has a script and was talking to Gomez to take on the leading part depicting the musical icon.

Fans were also quick to resurface an old video of Gomez stating how she started listening to Ronstadt's music since she kept getting told she looked like her.

None of this news has been confirmed, however, there are new hints that Gomez herself dropped that lead many to believe this rumor is true.

On Friday, Gomez posted a series of photos on her Instagram story of Ronstadt, including a photo of Ronstadt's song "Blue Bayou," a black and white image of young Ronstadt, and one of her quotes that reads, "The smell of the carpet in a hotel room is the same everywhere."

Ronstadt is a musical legend, who is well known in the '70s and '80s. Some of her hits include "Long, Long Time," "Different Drum," "You're No Good," "It Doesn't Matter Anymore," and "When Will I Be Loved," among many more.

Gomez is certainly no novice to acting, as she rose to fame during her long stint with Disney, most notably playing roles such as Alex Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place and Carter Mason in Princess Protection Program, followed by other popular characters in films such as Another Cinderella Story and The Fundamentals of Caring.

As one with multiple talents, Gomez is also well known for her singing, creating numerous pop hits including "Bad Liar," "Lose You To Love Me," "Look At Her Now," "Same Old Love," and "Good For You."

If the rumors are true that there is a Linda Ronstadt biopic in the works and Gomez is playing her, this will be Gomez's chance to once again show off her musical and acting talents together — who could ask for more?
