Get a First Look at Prince Harry's New Netflix Show 'Heart of Invictus'
Amidst many rumors the show was going to be canceled, Netflix has released the official trailer for Prince Harry's new series Heart of Invictus.
Following the success of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, the Sussexes have released the trailer to their latest project, Heart of Invictus. Per the synopsis, the series follows "six people competing in the 2022 Invictus Games, a global event founded by Prince Harry that helps wounded service members heal through sports."
The Duke of Sussex found The Invictus Games in 2014, effectively creating a close-knit community for injured servicemen and women, in which he is now putting a spotlight on some of their stories. While the show is happening through Prince Harry and Markle's production company, Archewell Productions, in partnership with Netflix, Markle is taking a step back as Prince Harry serves as the Executive Producer.
"Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination, and resolve," Prince Harry said in a statement. "This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year."
The Sussex's partnership with Netflix became officialized in 2020 with a reportedly over $150 million deal, in which the couple will produce content for the platform whether it be documentaries, movies, or scripted series. Just recently, it was announced that Prince Harry and Markle will produce their first full-fledged film, creating a screen adaptation of the romance novel Meet Me By the Lake, written by Carley Fortune.
Fortune announced the news on Instagram, captioning the post, "I never thought I'd be making this announcement, but since I am, it feels fitting that I'm doing it from the cottage where it all began. I'm thrilled to confirm that I'm teaming up with Netflix and Archewell Productions on the adaptation of Meet Me at the Lake. Will and Fern's love story is dear to my heart, and I can't imagine a more perfect partnership. Writing this book was a tremendous personal challenge, and to see it recognized in this way is truly incredible."
It will be a while until the film comes out, especially amidst the ongoing WGA and SAG strikes. That said, you'll get plenty of Prince Harry and Markle content with the upcoming Heart of Invictus show. Releasing on August 30, get a first look at Heart of Invictus below.
