Is Michael B. Jordan the Next Superman?
After starring in Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan might be returning to the world of superhereos as the next Superman.
After starring in Marvel's Black Panther alongside Chadwick Boseman and Lupita Nyong'o, it seems that Michael B. Jordan—aka the most beautiful man in the world—may return to the world of superhereos. This time around, though, rather than the villain, Jordan is rumored to be the next Superman.
Recently portrayed by Henry Cavill, the next chapter of the Man of Steel universe will certaintly see the first bBlack Superman ever with JJ Abrams and Ta-Nehisi Coates (writer of the original Black Panther comics) teaming up for the upcoming film.
Jordan himself commented on the possibility of being the next—and first Black—Superman during the promotion of his latest film, Without Remorse. "I don’t really know what is going on with that in particular, but I think everybody’s want and desire to see Black leads and heroic roles I think is really important. Representation is important.," he said. "[There are] so many opportunities with different IPs, different properties, different characters that never got the light of day. There’s certain ones that should just be where they are. Know what I’m saying? So let’s just see how things shake out."
