Lily Collins Begins Filming 'Emily in Paris' Season 2
The Netflix comedy series has officially returned to production.
Last October, the hit Netflix comedy series Emily in Paris captured audiences everywhere with its colorful fashion, breathtaking city views, and unmistakable Frenchness. Since its debut, the show and its lead Lily Collins have received Golden Globe nominations for Best Television Series and Best Actress. Now, the show officially returns to set, beginning production on the second season. The cast shared a video on Instagram, announcing the start of filming, as well as a tongue-in-cheek note from Emily's boss, saying "Emily Cooper's new work permit has been approved with a start date of May 3, 2021. As per our prior correspondence, she is an asset to SAVOIR and we hope she continues to have impact with our clients who are very particular about the results they expect from our agency."
While fans are still in the dark about what's to come for the young American in Paris, it seems she might be spending her summer holiday en vacances, as the French like to say. In the post announcing the start of filming, the show wrote in the caption, "Bonjour from Paris (and maybe some other areas of France😉)! We’re officially back in production on Season 2!"
In fact, Collins and other cast members have been spotted filming in the South of France in Villefranche-sur-Mer, a town just east of Nice. Of course, Collins, as her character Emily, was sporting only her best summer fashion ensembles, including a chic blue swimsuit with a red wrap as she lounges by the pool.
From the photos, it's clear Emily will be sporting some of this year's biggest trends. In one, she wears oversized white sunglasses and a silk headscarf with a blue and white babydoll dress and a geometric print coat. In another shot by the pool, Collins' co-star Ashley Park, who plays Emily's friend Mindy, sports a white off-the-shoulder top with jean shorts and yellow knee-high, fringe boots. Emily may be out of office, but her style never is.
