Jennifer Lawrence has conquered the world with her powerful acting and unparalleled charisma, and over the years she has appeared in major productions such as The Hunger Games and Silver Linings Playbook, the latter of which earned her the Oscar for Best Actress in 2011 when he was 22 years old. However, even though her productions have guaranteed her a legion of fans, the actress decided to take a break from acting. Now, about to return to the spotlight with a new project, Lawrence is finally opening up about why she made that decision.

Her last film, X-Men: Black Phoenix, was released in 2019. Two years later, the actress is returning to Hollywood with the long-awaited film Don't Look Up which arrives on Netflix on 24 December.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the actress talks about her latest films. “I wasn't getting the quality I should have”, she explained. “I just think everyone got sick of me. I got sick of myself. I had just reached the point where I couldn't do anything right. If I walked down the red carpet, it was like, 'Why didn't she run?'"

Lawrence also vented about what her job has meant to her. “I think I've pleased people most of my life. Working made me feel like no one could be mad at me,” he revealed. “And then I felt like it had reached a point where people weren't satisfied with just my existence. So that kind of took me away from the thought that work or your career can bring any kind of peace to your soul.”
