Jennifer Aniston Reveals a Real-Life Crush on Her 'Friends' Co-Star
Beyond their characters Ross and Rachel, the actress revealed that she had a reciprocal crush on her co-star David Schwimmer.
Ross and Rachel could have been a real-life couple!
If you were a fan of Friends, you may have hoped that the characters would be together after so much history. After all, the chemistry between the two was indisputable and one of the reasons for this could be the fact that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer had a crush on each other off the screen. During Friends: The Reunion TV special, they reveal just that.
Presenter James Corden revealed that it was inconceivable to him that possibly an off-camera romance had not happened. Aniston prompted, "Well ... David?"
"In the first season, I had a huge crush on Jen," said Schwimmer. His co-star responded by saying that it was reciprocal. However, the actors never had a romantic relationship. “It hurt like two ships passing by because one of us has always been in a relationship and we’ve never crossed that border. You know, we respect that."
Aniston also revealed a conversation she had with Schwimmer before Rachel and Ross's first kiss on the show. "I remember saying to David once, 'It will be so boring if the first time we kiss is on national television," and that is exactly what happened.
“The first time we kissed was in that cafeteria. We just channel all of our adoration and love for each other in Ross and Rachel,” explained the actress.
Schwimmer also revealed that he did not know how the other castmates had not noticed that the two liked each other. What he didn't expect was that the other actors would say that they did notice it! With such a close cast, how can you not notice, right?
