Anatomy of a Scandal has been highly anticipated since it was greenlit by Netflix back in May of 2020. The dark best-selling novel of the same name by Sarah Vaughan was adapted by Emmy winner and creator of Big Little Lies and The Undoing, David E. Kelley and Melissa James Gibson. Shortly following the greenlighting, S.J. Clarkson signed on to direct all episodes for the first season.

In the following September, Sienna Miller, Rupert Friend, and MIchelle Dockery signed on for starring roles. Later, in December of 2020, it was announced that Naomi Scott would also be starring, and then a month later Ben Radcliffe was added to the docket. The project filmed from October 2020 to February 2021.

The series follows the upper crust of London through the midst of a court case. Accusations, secrets, guilt, and deceit punctuate an otherwise happy and privileged marriage; all told through the lens of the glamorous British elite. The show reckons with perspective as well, as the show plays on psychological points, slowly unraveling the truth to the viewer.

All six episodes are set to release at the same time on April 15.
