Corenswet attended the University of Pennsylvania after graduating high school, but he still always hoped to pursue acting. So, after a year, he applied to Juilliard and was accepted to the selective and renowned drama program.

Corenswet has starred in a lot of movies and TV shows since breaking out in Hollywood in 2018 in the political drama movie, Affairs of State. Since then, David Corenswet has proven his skills across genres.
He starred in movies and TV shows like the Netflix series The Politician, in 2018, which was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards. His role in another Netflix series from Ryan Murphy, Hollywood (2020), solidified his skills in drama while his character in the A24 film, Pearl (2022), brought him squarely into horror.

What has garnered a lot of attention since the announcement is that Corenswet's depiction of the Man of Steel will be the first Jewish Superman. The original Superman comics were actually inspired by Jewish tradition like the story of Moses and created by two Jewish teenagers.
Even if the character of Clark Kent isn't Jewish in the film, the fact that David Corenswet reflects the roots of the comics has people excited.
