Get ready for "As if!" to make a comeback because Clueless is getting a remake.

The quotable comedy following the materialistic life of Cher Horowitz is the next beneficiary of a wave of '90s nostalgia, as Paramount is developing a new version of the film. Tracy Oliver, who co-wrote Girls Trip, will be producing, while Marquita Robinson of GLOW will write the script.

While the original 1995 film was moderately successful upon release, the subsequent and ongoing cult following propelled Clueless to pop culture canon. Outside of incredible quotes like "You're a virgin who can't drive," Cher's iconic yellow plaid continues to make statements, even as recently as the Fall 2018 runways, and the film has inspired a spinoff TV sitcom, a book series, and an upcoming off-Broadway musical starring Dove Cameron.

It's worth noting that Clueless itself fits within the remake genre, as its plot is based on Jane Austen's Emma. It brought the novel's ideas of youthful hubris and misconstrued romance to a Beverly Hills high school setting, creating a campy chic result which has become one of the most major films of Alicia Silverstone's acting career. Now, the story will get a refresh for a new generation, capitalizing on a zeitgeist ripe for remakes and '90s aesthetics.

Details about the cast have yet to be released, and it's also unclear whether the film will evoke its original era or set its now-timeless comedy in 2018. Regardless, expect to see an uptick in Valley Girl quotes and lots of plaid in anticipation of the new Clueless release.
