Born on May 14, 1969 in Melbourne, Cate Blanchett has taken Hollywood by storm.  It's been over two decades since her first Oscar nomination for Best Actress in the 1998 film Elizabeth. Today, the Australian actress boasts two Academy Awards, one for Best Supporting Actress in The Aviator (2004 film) and one for Best Leading Actress in Blue Jasmine (2013 film).

Furthermore, Blanchett is considered one of the most multifaceted actresses, able to interpret very different roles brilliantly. From playing Lady Tremaine, Cinderella's wicked stepmother, in the 2015 Disney film to Carol Aird, the star of the 2015 film Carol, her roles attest to her chameleonic abilities. In the last extremely complex year, the Australian mother has had the opportunity to work on various personal projects including Stateless, the TV series distributed by Netflix entirely created, directed, and produced by Blanchett.

In addition to being one of the most respected faces of cinema and theater, she is involved in many cultural and social initiatives and has been the face of Giorgio Armani since 2013.

On her 53rd birthday, L'OFFICIEL pays homage to some of her most impressive films.
