Timothée Chalamet Hypnotizes in 'Beautiful Boy' Trailer
Timothée Chalamet, master of the fine art of playing troubled teenagers, is making his second play for an Oscar, or so rumor has it. The second official trailer of Amazon Studios’s Beautiful Boy was released this morning, which features Chalamet in all his doe-eyed glory: crying, smiling, and navigating an ever-complicated relationship with his character’s father, played by Steve Carrell.
The film is an adaptation of two memoirs by Nic and David Sheff (the former being played by Chalamet), the tale of a father and son maneuvering through emotional obstacles while Nic recovers from a debilitating meth addiction. And while Chalamet became an overnight sensation last year for Call Me By Your Name, reviews following Beautiful Boy’s premiere at TIFF last week almost unanimously heap praise on the actor.
Although awards season isn’t yet upon us, you can make your own judgements on the trailer, posted below.
