Everything We Know About 'American Horror Story' Season 12
Spoiler alert: The series will star Kim Kardashian.
Airing gripping episodes for over a decade, American Horror Story is one of those series that never gets old. Being an anthology, each AHS season is its own standalone story, complete with different characters (most of the time) in a new time and place. Merging novel storylines with true-to-life details and familiar, albeit problematic behaviors, the FX show is as enlightening as it is terrifying. It’s been three years of anticipation since showrunners Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk confirmed Season 12 back in 2020. Since then, we’ve been dying for details. Cast
Matt Czuchry was the first cast member to be confirmed following the cancellation of his former series, The Resident. It will be Czuchry’s first-ever appearance in the AHS franchise. In a cryptic Instagram post, Murphy teased that AHS veteran Emma Roberts will be rejoining the cast alongside Kim Kardashian, who is making her AHS debut. Although this may seem out of left field, it isn't the first time AHS has cast a celebrity. Remember Lady Gaga as The Countess in Hotel? Plus, the series' theme of horror is on-brand for Kardashian as a sort of campy cameo (think back to when she hosted Saturday Night Live). Murphy, known to be friends with Kardashian, said of the reality star, “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”

Kim Kardashian
Alongside AHS regular Emma Roberts, Kim Kardashian is playing a major role on American Horror Story season 12. Her character is named Siobhan Corbyn, the best friend and publicist of Roberts' character, Anna Victoria Alcott. Though Kardashian has had mixed reviews for her acting in the first part of American Horror Story season 12, fans of the Kardashian-Jenner family are excited about her role in the iconic series.
Matt Czuchry
Known for his role as Logan Huntzberger on Gilmore Girls, Matt Czuchry is starring as Dex Harding on American Horror Story season 12, who is the love interest of Emma Roberts' character, Anna.
Cara Delevingne
American Horror Story season 12 marks Cara Delevingne's debut in the anthology series. Here, Delevingne plays Ivy, one of the show's mysterious villains who is assumed to have played a role in Anna's miscarriage.
Plot
Season 12 is entitled Delicate, based on Danielle Valentine’s soon-to-be-released novel, Delicate Condition. With other seasons featuring more overtly terrifying names like Murder House, Asylum, and Cult, this comparatively sweeter title feels like a bit of a departure. But, true to AHS form, the novel is described by Valentine as “a gripping thriller that follows a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens―while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says.” Author Kate Gutierrez calls it, “Beautifully written, unbearably tense, and deeply scary. A modern fairy tale that asks what we'd be willing to sacrifice for the thing we want most." Think of it as a modern, feminist take on Rosemary’s Baby.
Filming
The show began filming in New York City near the end of April. In June 2023, production was officially halted due to the writer's strike. However, filming resumed in November 2023 and finished by the end of January this year.
Release Date
The first episode of AHS Season 12 premiered on September 20, 2023. The first episode of the second part of the two-part season is set to premiere on April 3. Don't worry, AHS fans, it's coming sooner than you think!
