Zoë Kravitz Claps Back at Critic of Her 'Naked' Met Gala Dress
The actress wore a barely-there gown from Saint Laurent.
On Monday, stars climbed the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art to attend the 2021 Met Gala. Among them, Zoë Kravitz attended in a jeweled, chain-linked dress from Saint Laurent. The nearly-nude look was a major hit on the red carpet, but some social media users were not as impressed. However, Kravitz has no patience for haters.
"I don't understand why they go practically naked," wrote one Instagram user on Kravitz's Instagram post of her dress. "She's gorgeous. Why does she feel the need to wear a dress like this?"
In response to the Instagram critic, the High Fidelity actress got real about others policing her body. She wrote, "Being uncomfortable with the human body is colonization / brainwashing. it's just a body. we all got em."
This year's Met Gala celebrated the opening of the Costume Institute's new exhibition "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion." Following the event's theme, celebrities arrived in their best interpretations of American fashion and excellence. The first part of the exhibition opens on September 18, while the second part, "In America: An Anthology of Fashion," will premiere on May 5, 2022.
