Meet Chinese Actress Yang Mi, Loewe's Newest Ambassador
Having starred in over 65 films and TV series, Yang Mi will take her on-screen talents to the fashion stage as Loewe's new global face.
Loewe welcomes Chinese actress and singer Yang Mi among the ranks of its ambassadors. “I'm really excited to be part of the Loewe family,” said Mi. "I love how his aesthetic translates into a distinctive personality and I appreciate [Creative Director] Jonathan Anderson's commitment to craftsmanship." The Spanish brand has announced that the Chinese actress will take part in its Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show which will be held during Paris Fashion Week.
But who is the Chinese actress? Mi was born on September 12, 1986 and made her acting debut in the historical-themed TV series Tang Ming Huang. She has won numerous awards for her performances in TV series such as Wang Zhaojun (2007), Chinese Paladin 3 (2009), Palace 1 (2011), Beijing Love Story (2012), Swords of Legends (2014), The Interpreter (2016), Eternal Love (2017), and Legend of Fuyao (2018), achieving unparalleled popularity so much so that her Weibo account has more than 112 million followers. Her career then turned to the big screen where he starred in films such as Mysterious Island (2011), Tiny Times (2015), and The Witness (2015). In 2017, she won Best Actress at the WorldFest Houston International Festival for her performance in Reset (2017).
Mi joins actors Josh O'Connor, Taylor Russell, and Tang Wei, as well as K-pop stars Taeyong and the girl group Nmixx, as one of the global faces of Loewe, which recently topped the Lyst Index list of hottest brands for the first time. Speaking on Mi's addition to the Loewe team, Anderson said, "It is a real pleasure to welcome Yang Mi as our new Global Brand Ambassador.
