The Chanel Spring/Summer 2023 Haute Couture show was filled to the brim with A-list celebrities who we well and truly know, but there was one new face in the crowd who has been long-awaited. Apple Martin, the 18-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, took the internet by storm when she made an appearance during the show in Paris this week. Let's get to know this young star who the late Karl Lagerfeld predicted would be a future Chanel Girl.
Up until now, Martin's parents have been successful at concealing her identity. As a young girl, Martin attended concerts and baseball games with her parents and brother Moses. She graduated from Crossroads School in Los Angeles, her mother's alma mater, in 2022 alongside a number of other nepo babies, including Elon Musk's daughter. There is little content about her on the internet, even her Instagram account is private, and we don't think it's a coincidence that she made her first fashion debut at 18 years old.
As Martin sat front row alongside singer Angèle and actresses Sadie Sink and Lucy Boynton, she wore a checkered dress and a matching jacket by Chanel. She paired the outfit with some classic, black loafers and a crossbody purse to tie it all together. Her bright, blonde hair was subtly blown out and laid gently on her shoulders. Martin has always been her mother's stunning replica but now, she resembles her more than ever.
Not only is her mother a famous actress and businesswoman, but her grandmother, Blythe Danner, is as well. You may know her from movies like The Lucky One and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Because of the long lineage of successful females in their family, we're sure Martin will follow suit whether it's in the acting world or any other industry. Perhaps she'll move into the music space like her father Chris, the lead singer of Coldplay.
