Skims is staking its place in luxury fashion once more.
The shapewear brand co-founded by Kim Kardashian announced its latest collection on November 14 in collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. The result? A limited-edition collection that fuses Dolce & Gabbana’s Sicilian cultural motifs with Skims' signature comfort and practicality. Altogether, it provides a unique selection of body-enhancing ready-to-wear and underwear. Skims’ classic sets are reimagined with Dolce & Gabbana’s iconic leopard print, for example. Alluring lingerie, silky sleep duos, and figure-hugging corsets offer a distinctive look to style for various occasions.
"We hold a genuine affection for Kim and her family,” Dolce & Gabbana co-founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said in a press release. “Our shared bond, rooted in a long-standing friendship, naturally inspired this new collaboration centered on inclusivity and body positivity—values close to our hearts and core to Skims.”
Kardashian and the Italian maison have collaborated before. After all, Kardashian had a hand in curating the brand's Spring/Summer 2023 collection, and she walked the show. (The following year, however, there were rumblings of drama.) This time, both brands' unique aesthetics merge more seamlessly than ever, blending the Italian luxury brand's bold aesthetic with Skims' sensual touch.
The new collection brings together enchanting styles from both brands’ archives, with an emphasis on fit, texture, prints, and bold details. After all, there was a focus on "incredible fit and comfort" when making the collection, per Kardashian. Skims’ commitment to size inclusivity continues, and pieces are available in sizes XXS - 4X. Bra sizing ranges from 30A to 38DD.
“It's been an honor to collaborate with my friends Domenico and Stefano on this special collection for Dolce & Gabbana and Skims," Kardashian added in the press release. Prices start at $48 for lux basics and go up to $698 for more complex pieces.
The collaborative collection's campaign was led by Nadia Lee Cohen, who placed Kardashian and her older sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker at its visual center. Lensed by Donna Trope, it pays homage to Italy's storied heritage and cultural landscape. The salient imagery is key in illustrating the sultry, enthralling narrative pulsating in this collection.
The Dolce & Gabbana x Skims Collection will be available to shop several places: on Skims' website, in its retail stores, at select Dolce & Gabbana boutiques, and at luxury retailers like Neiman Marcus starting on November 19, 2024.
