Second Life by Parade: A New Underwear Recycling Program

Inclusive and increasingly sustainable, Parade is launching a recycling program that gives back to consumers and the planet.

Beloved basics brand Parade is known for its vibrant line of underwear and loungewear that caters to a wide range of sizes. An already proudly sustainable brand, Parade is now launching an underwear recycling program, Second Life by Parade.

Second Life by Parade is a rewards program that allows consumers to recycle any clean underwear in efforts to reduce their carbon footprint. In exchange for their new or used (but washed) undies, customers receive 20 percent Parade credit to use to shop online.

Here’s how it works: shoppers request a Second Life by Parade package on the brand's website. The package includes a biodegradeable bag to ship as many pairs of clean underwear as they like in, as well as a complimentary prepaid shipping label. Once shipped, the credit is distributed.

Partnering with TerraCycle, a waste management company whose mission is to “eliminate the idea of waste,” the materials provided through the Second Life program will be  recycled into a variety of products from furniture to bedding. With this new initiative, Parade now reports it is on track to be carbon positive by 2025.
