Sarah Burton Is Appointed Givenchy's New Creative Director
After spending her entire career at Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton will become the eighth designer to head the French house.
Sarah Burton has been officially appointed creative director of Givenchy. The LVMH-owned brand has chosen the British designer after a long and distinguished career at Alexander McQueen . Her first collection for Givenchy will likely take place during Paris Fashion Week in March 2025.
"Sarah Burton is an exceptional creative talent whose work I have followed with passion for many years," Givenchy chairman Sidney Toledano said. "I am very pleased that she is joining Givenchy today. Her unique vision and approach to fashion will be invaluable to this iconic house, known for its audacity and haute couture. I am confident that her creative leadership will contribute to the future success and international influence of the house."
Ms. Burton announced, "It is a great honor to join the magnificent Maison Givenchy, it is a jewel. I am very happy to be able to write the next chapter in the history of this emblematic house and to bring to Givenchy my own vision, my sensitivity and my convictions."
