Kering Names Sabato de Sarno New Creative Director of Gucci

De Sarno takes over after Alessandro Michele's unexpected exit in November 2022.

The announcement we've all been waiting for has finally arrived: Gucci and Kering have jointly announced that Sabato De Sarno will take over the creative direction of the historic Italian fashion house. It follows Alessandro Michele, and we can't wait to see what the creator has in store for us.

In their press release, it was announced that in his new role, Mr. De Sarno will lead the House's design studio and report to Marco Bizzarri, Chairman and CEO of Gucci. He will be responsible for defining and expressing the creative vision of the House for the women's, men's, leather, accessories, and lifestyle collections.

"I am proud to join an Assembly with such an extraordinary history and heritage, which over the years has embraced and cherished the values in which I believe. I'm moved and excited to bring my creative vision to the brand," said de Sarno.

Marco Bizzarri and François-Henri Pinault also expressed their joy, saying respectively "to be delighted that Sabato is joining Gucci as the new Creative Director of the House, [...] having worked with some of the most renowned fashion houses from Italy, Mr. Sabato brings with him a vast and relevant experience," but also certifying that with "Sabato De Sarno at the helm of creation, we are convinced that the House will continue to influence fashion and culture through highly desirable products and collections and will bring a singular, contemporary perspective to modern luxury."
