Rihanna Wore Y/Project's Infamous Thigh-High Ugg Boots to Coachella
When it comes to dressing for Coachella, Rihanna is a certified pro. Last year saw the entertainer and fashion icon rocking an impressive Matthew Adams Dolan denim number and a Gucci crystal-embellished full-body sock. Naturally, RiRi turned the volume up, even more, this year.
For day 1, she rocked a two-piece white leather outfit embellished with Chrome Hearts buckle, straps, and buttons. On day 3, the star opted for a Gucci ski-mask and show-stopping crystal chandelier earrings. But it was day 2's head-to-toe Y/Project ensemble that stole the show, a camel-colored dream of voluminous fabric worn with those infamous thigh-high Ugg boots from Fall 2018.
“Putting on UGGs is like putting your foot in a warm pot of butter," Y/Project's designer Glenn Martens said of the collaboration. "I thought why not elevate that and immerse your full legs!” It was a stroke of genius that further fueled debates around the role of ugliness in luxury fashion. However, given Rihanna's inimitable ability to create jaw-dropping fashion moments, the word ugly suddenly disappears. As the saying goes, "It's ugly until Rihanna decides it's not."
