Is Rihanna Going on a World Tour in 2024? Here's What to Know
If you didn't make Rihanna's concert during the Super Bowl, the singer reportedly has a world tour in the works.
Alert the Rihanna Navy: Rihanna is reportedly planning a world tour and releasing new music. The confirmation comes from an inside source who spoke to Entertainment Tonight, though it's worth noting that Rihanna herself still has yet to make any type of announcement. So is Rihanna going on a world tour in 2024? Here's what we know.
She has allegedly made a deal with Live Nation to go on a world tour during 2024 and 2025, with plans to release new music, per ET. If the news turns out to be true, it would be expected that she would bring in mass numbers, comparable to the highly successful Taylor Swift Eras Tour and Beyoncé Renaissance Tour.
Earlier this year Rihanna returned to the stage for her first performance in more than five years, as she was the headliner for the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show. Attracting over 127 million viewers, she made history as she set the record for the most-watched Super Bowl Halftime Show in history.
But it wasn't just her nostalgic, throwback setlist that had fans tweeting about her all night. During the performance, Rihanna revealed she was pregnant with her second child, another son, — whom she recently gave birth to and has named Riot Rose Mayers.
"Rihanna adores being a mom, and it’s her biggest accomplishment in life," a source told ET earlier this year. "She and A$AP [Rocky] have always wanted to grow their family and have another baby together."
The source added, "They're so excited to grow their family and are so united when it comes to parenting. They have so much fun together and are very in love. They already shared a special connection, and parenting together has made their bond even stronger."
Speaking on motherhood, Rihanna shared how it has been a "beautiful" experience and that "everything changes when you have a baby" in an interview with British Vogue.
"Oh my God, it's legendary," she said. "It's everything. You really don't remember life before, that's the craziest thing ever. You literally try to remember it -- and there are photos of my life before -- but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don't identify with it because you don't even allow yourself mentally to get that far because... Because it doesn't matter."
For the past few years, beyond her family, Rihanna has spent most of her time focusing on her brand Savage x Fenty, which she founded in 2018. In June 2023, the fashion and beauty mogul stepped down from her position as CEO and now holds another leadership position as Executive Chair.
Now with a bit more free time on her hands, perhaps this is a sign Rihanna is pivoting her focus back to her music career. It's been nearly a year since she released her single "Lift Me Up" for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, which was her first single in six years. If a world tour is truly on the horizon, it's time for her to get back in the studio and drop an album first.
