Quilted Pieces are Still in for Fall/Winter 2021
Don't put your puffers away—they'll come in handy next season.
Quilted, padded, and puffed-up fabrics were all over last fall's runways, and recent collections predict that the trend will continue into the Fall/Winter 2021 season. Not only will we see quilted jackets and vests, but also sweaters, overalls, skirts, and accessories.
French fashion house Chanel stitched its signature camellias into quilted zip-up mini dresses, while Dior introduced padded coats quilted with the cannage motif. At Max Mara and Hermès, classic diamond and square patterns were used, while looks at Miu Miu were accented with a whimsical wavy stitch.
Quilted or padded accessories can also be seen in the Fall/Winter 2021 collections. While Daniel Lee's Bottega Veneta continues making a splash via exaggerated padding on its quilted bags and shoes, Louis Vuitton also presented bags with a square-stitched quilt pattern, and Thom Browne opted for an oversized sportier version of the trend.
Whether going simple with a padded vest or all-out in a snow suit à la Miu Miu, you're sure to be cozy as temperatures drop.
