Puma and Rhude Announce a Genderless Capsule Collection
After a powerful CELL Endura collaboration back in February of this year, Rhude and Puma are back again, and this time with a much larger range that will be dropping on August 3. The latest collection from the duo reimagines traditional silhouettes with four new footwear designs, and updated renditions of classic jackets, tracksuits, shirts, and hoodies. Designed with a pleasant balance of bright colors and neutral tones, this genderless streetwear line up is comfortably bold with an edge of class.
As part of this capsule collection, the CELL Alien has been revamped with “Green Menthol” CELL technology and a light sole, completed with a coat of black leather and mesh fabrics for a sleek finish. The Palace Guard is also getting some changes with new grey tones and reckless stitching of the upper suede, leather, and nylon components to achieve an unfinished look. Similarly, the Basket ‘68 OG is under construction for a new silhouette featuring white and grey coloring on leather and suede with silver accents and textured laces. Finally, Puma’s Alteration has been updated with grey and silver undertones and the addition of suede and leather for a vintage feel. In addition to these fresh kicks, the capsule is offering a full collection of clothing, specifically created to pair with the shoes.
“Having immigrated to the United States before going to high-school, I learned about the power of brand recognition in a different way than most American designers,” explained Rhude founder Rhuigi Villaseñor in a statement. “The power of a logo can hold such weight and serve armor in its own way, the idea that I have the access to re-imagine that concept with my own brand in partnership with PUMA is a dream come true in its own right.”
The Los-Angeles based designer seamlessly implements his personal touches into Puma’s portfolio of footwear with this collection, which you can find in select retail stores and on Puma’s website starting August 3.
