Phoebe Philo Exits Céline
The rumor mill of Phoebe Philo's departure from Céline hasn't stopped turning since Riccardo Tisci's exit at Givenchy. Back in October, Business Of Fashion reported that LVMH was interviewing multiple designers to replace the creative director.
Today, we have the confirmation, from a LVMH source, that Phoebe Philo is indeed leaving the French house for good, deciding that it's time for a break and that her mission at Céline is done. She will not join another house immediatly, according to the same source.
Phoebe Philo, who became creative director of the brand in 2008, has reinvigorated the Céline brand, leaving an inescapable and incomporable mark. Needless to say, there are big shoes to fill, and iconic bag designs to live up to for the next designer.
