Natalie Portman's look on the Oscars red carpet is always highly anticipated. Especially after her iconic Dior moment at the 2020 Oscars, critics, journalists, and the general public kept their eyes open for what the actress would wear next.

Although she was not seen at the Oscars this year, the actress opted for a discreet but very well-executed Dior gown at the Vanity Fair After-Party, which often heralds looks just as glamourous as the awards show itself. The classic look from Dior's Spring/Summer 2020 Haute Couture collection featured an asymmetrical neckline, channeling a greek goddess silhouette made specifically for the actress.

Using techniques of twisting, draping, pleating, the forest green chiffon gown was the embodiment of elegance as the lining added a beautiful contrast to the deeper hue. To execute this look, Dior designers spent 150 hours crafting it to perfection.

While the actress has always been a staple red carpet attendee, in recent years, she has made headlines for incorporating more social commentary into her ensembles. While attending the 2020 Academy Awards, Portman's red carpet outfit served as a silent protest to the Academy for having only male nominees for Directors of the Year. Completely handcrafted, the iconic dress had the names of the female directors not nominated in intricate golden lines. Portman served the gown with a statement black cape.
