You Can Now Get Pearl-Coated Moon Boots
These beloved kicks got an upgrade, Mattias Gollin-style, and are available to shop today.
When it comes to winter footwear, there are few hefty favorites like Moon Boots. The celebrity-approved and astronaut-inspired kicks are characterized by their voluminous silhouette, which makes them unmissable and fun to style. The brand offers endless colorways, but now, it's offering an even cooler look through its pearl- and crystal-coated shoes, in collaboration with Mattias Gollin
The new capsule collection, dubbed "Flakes," offers two version of the lace-less Moon Boot: one in a pale sand hue, the other in a classic cognac. Each is meticulously hand-embellished with over a hundred pearls and crystals, per the brand, designed with the intent of evoking an image of glistening snow. Each pair will retail for $360. As these luxurious snow boots are some of the trendiest this season, it seems like a good time for a collaboration to jazz them up with a touch of something extra.
Pearlcore may be a bygone trend, but Gollin know how to make anything look cool. He is renowned for his sophisticated creative vision and the ways he's able to reimagine footwear silhouettes. The snowflake-inspired collaboration with Moon Boots isn't the first time the Italian designer has put his spin on an iconic shoe. He's collaborated with Vans on the brand's classic sneakers, Slip-On, and with Timberland on a special edition of its 6" boots. He's no stranger to the avant-garde making him the perfect designer to take on the classic snow boots, which were influenced by the 1969 Apollo 11 Moon Landing.
The Mattias Gollin x Moon Boot No Lace is available for pre-order starting January 15 at mattiasgollin.com and moonboots.com.
