Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King, and Lin-Manuel Miranda to Host 2022 Met Gala
Hollywood's biggest celebrities are gearing up for Fashion's Night Out.
The first Monday in May is arguably the most exciting day of the year for fashion lovers, and this year, fans of the Met Gala have more to look forward to as the evening’s hosts have finally been announced. Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Lin-Manuel Miranda will officially co-chair the Costume Institute’s exhibition on American fashion.
This year’s theme is “America: An Anthology of Fashion,” and once again, Anna Wintour, Tom Ford, and Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, will serve as the evening’s honorary co-chairs.
This will be the first Met Gala to be held during the month of May since 2019. The theme is a continuation of last September’s which was titled “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” The 2021 Met Gala, which was hosted by Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Naomi Osaka, and Amanda Gorman, honored the 75th anniversary of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Guests and designers celebrated old Hollywood glamor and historic American fashion icons, and many, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, made bold political statements with their attire.
The highly anticipated charity event will be held in New York City on May 2, 2022 and will open in the museum’s American Wing period rooms to celebrate the development of American fashion.
