In a range of ultra-chic, minimalistic looks, the Duchess of Sussex has touched down in South America for her second public visit of the year.

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set out on a public visit to <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/meghan-markle-2024-nigeria-tour-looks-prince-harry" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nigeria</a> earlier this year, the couple announced that they would be resuming a fairly regular <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/prince-harry-meghan-markle-future-travel-plans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">travel schedule</a> throughout the rest of 2024. Their latest trip found the pair in Colombia, where they have kept busy with philanthropic engagements, visits to local schools, and meetings with state officials.&nbsp;
The couple were invited by Colombia's vice president, Francia M&aacute;rquez, who explained in a press conference that she felt a connection to Markle after hearing her story and her experience with the media following her marriage. &ldquo;I first encountered them through the media, and I particularly watched the Netflix series about their lives and their story, which deeply moved me. It motivated me to say, &lsquo;This is a woman who deserves to visit our country and share her story,&rsquo; and undoubtedly, her visit will strengthen so many women around the world.&rdquo;&nbsp;
While the trip is not an official royal tour, so to speak, it is a public visit made with a similar <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/top-celebrity-philanthropists-charities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">philanthropic</a> and diplomatic intent. M&aacute;rquez explained this further in the same statement and said: &ldquo;This is their first visit to Latin America. The purpose of their visit is to build bridges and open doors that will allow us to join forces in raising awareness and addressing a global issue that concerns us all: cyber-bullying in digital environments and discrimination, which pose a risk to everyone&rsquo;s mental health worldwide."&nbsp;
On Thursday, August 15, the couple touched down in Bogota, where they subsequently met with the vice president and her husband. Later in the day, they visited a school and met with young students, before co-hosting a summit on behalf of the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/prince-harry-wants-meghan-markle-to-resume-her-acting-career" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Archewell Foundation</a> on the ever-changing digital landscape, where social media and its impacts on society were primary talking points. On August 16, they visited another school and attended an <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/meghan-markle-2023-invictus-games-outfits-fashion-prince-harry" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Invictus Games</a> event in the afternoon. The itinerary for Saturday, August 17 included a visit to San Basilio de Palenque, and for their final day in Colombia, the couple are slated to visit a music festival in Cali.&nbsp;

For her first appearance in Colombia, Meghan Markle opted for a pared-back navy blue Veronica Beard pantsuit, which she accompanied with a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/loro-piana-into-the-wild-collection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Loro Piana</a> bag and a classic pair of Manolo Blahnik heels. In the beauty realm, the Duchess of Sussex sported chic slicked-back hair look and minimal, but elegant glam.&nbsp;

Later in the day, Markle traded her pantsuit for a playful patterned dress by Johanna Ortiz, and wore her hair in loose waves.&nbsp;

For her third and final outfit change on the first day of Markle's trip to Colombia, she wore a monochromatic brown look, courtesy of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/victoria-beckham-mango-collection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Victoria Beckham</a> and La Ligne, as she spoke during a conference.&nbsp;

While all of Meghan Markle's Colombia outfits have been characteristically buzzy, it is this look in particular that has the masses talking. In ultra-chic <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/chanel-baand-together-partnership" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chanel</a> slingbacks, a camel-toned double-breasted blazer, and black fitted trousers, Markle appears the epitome of elegance, but it's not the outfit itself that has garnered attention. In place of her typical pared-back hoops or gold drop earrings, Markle donned a pair of gold butterfly earrings that originally belonged to the beloved <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/princess-diana-after-divorce-bikini-summer-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Princess Diana</a>. Studded with diamond and onyx, the Princess originally wore the earrings back in the '80s, but Markle has reintroduced them to the public eye in an entirely new light.&nbsp;

While visiting a training session for the Invictus Games, Meghan Markle donned a skirt by Juan De Dios, celebrating one of South America's leading designers.
