Margot Robbie's Best Barbie-Inspired Looks So Far
She's everything. And so are her glamorously on-theme looks for the film's press tour.
The hot pink and dreamy world of Barbie Land may be the genius creation of director Greta Gerwig, but actress Margot Robbie has proven that the glamorous and fun aesthetic of the movie can cross into the real world just like Barbie does herself. With the help of her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, Robbie brought the world of Barbie to life as the cast heads on their press tour prior to the release of the film.
From directly referencing the Mattel dolls to emulating the unmistakably pink styles Barbie would definitely beg Ken to buy for her, Robbie’s looks are some of the best promo for the movie. Barbie may be president, she may be a doctor, and she may be a Nobel laureate and published author, but what she will always be first is a fashion icon. As we work on building our own hot pink outfits to rock at the theaters, L’OFFICIEL has rounded up Margot Robbie’s best Barbie looks.
As Margot Robbie inspects the Mattel Barbie dolls inspired by the film, it's clear to see how it was so easy to recreate her character as a toy. She wears a full look from Versace, a light pink corset and a hot pink skirt, to meet her doll and do some promo for the movie.
Everything about this look is so perfectly Barbie, from the light pink Bottega Veneta set and bag to the matching pink convertible and even the Malibu palm trees.
A lot of the Barbie costumes that weren't made by costume designer Jacqueline Durran and her team come from the Chanel archives. The dress Robbie wears for her dreamhouse tour with Architectural Digest is one that she wears in the film, and perfectly fits in with the aesthetic of the other outfits that magically appear in Barbie's wardrobe at the start of each day.
