Following several jam-packed weeks of innovative new menswear and breathtaking couture designs presented in Paris, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/marc-jacobs-fall-winter-2023-collection-show-every-look" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marc Jacobs</a> debuted its latest collection in New York. Embracing authenticity and freedom of expression in clothing, the luxury <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/marc-jacobs-tiktok-all-about-the-brands-gen-z-viral-success" target="_blank" rel="noopener">label</a> debuted a stunning new line of mod-inspired retro designs that all encompassed the image of the doll.&nbsp;
Utilizing fantastical vintage-inspired silhouettes, avant-garde statement beauty choices&mdash;including sculptural hair looks and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/marc-jacobs-spring-summer-2024-runway-images" target="_blank" rel="noopener">doll</a>-esque eyelashes&mdash;and larger-than-life footwear, the Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2024 runway show began with a bang. The first look drew its inspiration from one of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/marilyn-monroe-media-legacy-nude-playboy-photos-body" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marilyn Monroe</a>'s most famous looks&mdash;the white halter neck dress worn by the star when her skirt was lifted by the wind&mdash;and elevated it to an entirely new level. Contemporary in its composition, but no doubt infused with Monroe's vintage, sultry spirit of the '50s, the look was a bold choice, but one that both embraces the overarching spirit of the collection, while simultaneously possessing a lasting impact that will stick with those in the front row for years to come. Authentic, free, and utterly joyful in spirit, this iconic Marilyn look set the tone for the series of 40 looks that followed.&nbsp;
Knitted <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/shapewear-bodysuits-to-celebrity-stylists-swear-by-shopping" target="_blank" rel="noopener">briefs</a> that hover just over the skin, creating the illusion of an oversized fit, and retro-inspired mid-length dresses with structured hemlines toy with volume and time&mdash;taking hold of moments where garments are rustled by wind and tugged by an invisible hand and memorializing them through sculptural material. Playful is no doubt the most apt word to describe this doll-inspired collection, where models strode down the runway holding stiff poses, with arms and legs poised in the manner of out-of-the-box <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/margot-robbie-barbie-looks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Barbie</a> dolls. Bold colors and striking patterns pay homage both to retro fashion as well as the looks that dolls themselves have sported throughout the ages.
