As we near the end of 2021, there is hope in the air for better days going forward, an emergence from the chaos of the past months. A few brands are taking the opportunity to partake in a bit of celebration. Of all the anniversaries taking place this year, here are the ones we have our eye on.

First things first, L'OFFICIEL is celebrating its own 100th anniversary. The magazine and its international counterparts will officially have been reporting the best of fashion news for 100 years this fall.

Gucci Aria

Guccio Gucci, the founder of the now-iconic brand, left Florence at only 16 years old to work at The Savoy Hotel in London. 100 years after he founded Gucci, Creative Director Alessandro Michele debuted the brand's Aria collection at the same hotel.

Michele displayed the celebratory collection in a short film soundtracked by popular artists including Lil Pump, Rick Ross, and Future. The designs paid tribute to the brand's equestrian roots, its commitment to sharp tailoring, and, of course, the signature interlocking "G" logo.

The fashion house also put up a show in their Italian Gucci Garden titled Gucci Garden Archetypes. The exhibition takes viewers through 15 collections of the Michele era, highlighting the inspirations and creative visions of the brand.

Louis Vuitton's 200th Anniversary

Louis 200 comes in a variety of different forms. First off, the brand has commissioned 200 new designs of their signature trunk from artists around the world. There is also a celebratory jigsaw puzzle inspired by the house's "nostalgic silk scarf pattern."

Most interestingly, Louis Vuitton has put together Louis the Gamea video game that teaches players about the history of the brand. "It's up to you to collect the 200 birthday candles, learn all there is to know about the Maison, collect all the fashion accessories and be the first to find one of the 30 NFTs," they explained.

The game can be downloaded through the app store, and the brand promises even more anniversary drops will come throughout the remainder of the year.

MICHAEL KORS COLLECTION FALL/WINTER 2021—THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY RUNWAY SHOW

To celebrate 40 years of his eponymous brand, Michael Kors looked to his previous collections. For his Fall/Winter 2021 show, Kors reissued 15 of his favorite looks from his past. A multigenerational cast of supermodels, including names like Bella Hadid and Naomi Campbell, walked through New York City's theater district under bright lights and the neon billboards.

The show featured a neutral palette with streaks of red and glitter. It highlighted Kors' tailoring for the professional woman with trouser suits, trench coats, and fur jackets. Sparkling gowns offered a nighttime version of Kors' target consumer.

After the show, the participants filed into Shubert Theater for a medley performance by Rufus Wainwright singing New York classics like "City Lights," "New York State of Mind," and "There’s No Business Like Show Business."

Chanel N°5's 100th Anniversary

It's been 100 years since Coco Chanel released her legendary perfume Chanel N°5. The scent has a storied history. It was worn, perhaps most famously, by Marilyn Monroe, an icon of luxury and sensuality.

To celebrate the anniversary, Chanel launched Factory 5, a line of products built around the classic fragrance. 17 different beauty products feature the scent, allowing you to coat yourself in the perfume, in every way possible.

The products are packaged in minimalistic black and white containers, a nod to the pop-art fame of Chanel N°5, which was once used in the work of Andy Warhol. The Factory 5 line could be purchased in pop-up shops across the globe. Virtual tours of the pop-ups are still available on the brand's website
