How Madeleine White Gets Ready For the Prada Runway Show
The TikTok star is sharing all the details about her favorite pieces from the collection.
If you've been on the Internet in the last two years, you've probably seen Madeleine White's GRWM TikToks. Always up for experimenting with her looks, she embraces the play element of fashion that is too easy to forget while getting swept up in the hustle and bustle of runway shows and events. She will try to style a beaded top over a white button-down, and under it, and by itself. Her followers enjoy watching her act out the process of styling a look that pushes the bounds of fashion just enough to discover something new. In fact, diehard luxury fans saw this firsthand last year when White cut up a Prada jumpsuit to turn it into a three-piece set. Though the sight of scissors taken to a Prada piece was jarring for some, others praised her creativity and DIY skills.
This season, however, no cutting instruments were involved in this look. At least not on White's part. Instead, the influencer attended the Prada show in an A-line dress teetering on the edge of the Office Siren aesthetic. Following the runway, White spoke with L'OFFICIEL about her favorite looks from the collection, plus some of her Fashion Week essentials.
L'O: What were your favorite looks at the Prada show?
Madeleine White: My favorite looks were definitely the pink dress with the plethora of bows and the biker jacket paired with a wool skirt with ruffles, I loved the juxtaposition between the utility of the jacket and the femininity of the skirt.
L'O: How does Prada fit into your personal style?
MW: Prada is the ultimate aspirational style for me, it's elevated and timeless whilst still staying contemporary.
L'O: Who’s the most interesting person you’ve met during a fashion week?
MW: I was once stopped in my tracks by the most stunning purse I have ever seen and asked the lady holding it where she got it, it turns out that lady was Candace Bushnell, author and inspiration of Sex and the City. She created a style icon of a generation.
L'O: What’s the coolest fashion week party you’ve ever attended?
MW: Attending the Victoria's Secret World Tour party was so cool for me. I loved the Victoria’s Secret fashion shows growing up and standing in a room full of my idols was really a dream come true.
L'O: Do you have any go-to spots when you're in Milan? Or something you're looking to do/see for the first time while you're there?
MW: My first stop is always for a good bowl of pasta, I’m yet to have a bad one. One of my favorite malls ever is La Rinascente next to the Duomo, they have amazing buying! They carry so many cool and contemporary designers.
L'O: What are your fashion week essentials?
MW: I pack a whole fashion week survival kit with Liquid IV for hydration, soluble caffeine for energy, Advil, Tylenol, band-aids, and every hair tie or bobby pin you could ever think of.
L'O: If your phone died in the middle of fashion week, what would you do?
MW: Well lucky for me, my first day here there was a huge cell service outage across the US, except I was none the wiser without US news channels and thought I forgot to pay my phone bill. So now I’ve learned about the genius of the Esim!
L'O: What’s a beauty product in your bag that you can’t live without?
MW: Summer Fridays cherry lip balm.
L'O: What’s a fashion trend that you regret trying?
MW: Anything I wore in high school. I wanted so badly to wear and look like everyone else and now I want to speak to younger me and say, Embrace your creativity girl!
