Louis Vuitton Designs Custom Trophy Trunk for FIFA World Cup 2022
The FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy was unveiled by Deepika Padukone and Iker Casillas before the final match between Argentina and France.
Sunday night saw a thrilling final match between contenders Argentina and France for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with the former coming out as world champions with a 4-2 victory, led by Argentina captain Lionel Messi. To celebrate the spirit of football, luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton unveiled a special trophy trunk custom-designed to house the event's most coveted prize.
Unveiled by actress Deepika Padukone and former Spanish footballer and World Cup winner Iker Casillas before the final match began at Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar, the trophy trunk follows in the Maison's long-standing history and reputation of creating "ingenious cases for travelers to transport their most precious belongings."
2022's edition, handcrafted by skilled artisans just outside Paris in Asnières, also marks the fourth time the house has partnered with the FIFA World Cup to create trunks to protect the prestigious trophy, weighing 6.175 kilograms and made of precious 18-carat gold and malachite.
