To reflect Louis Vuitton’s commitment to excellence, the house’s new and revived campaign features revered and rival tennis players Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal as they embark on an ambitious journey through the snowy ranges of Italy’s Dolomites. Lensed by Annie Leibovitz, the tennis legends are outfitted in Louis Vuitton, with Federer sporting a classic Monogram Christopher backpack and Nadal wearing the Monogram Eclipse version. The image of the two hiking together through the snowy landscape captures the mutual respect they share, forged through their experiences on the tennis stage. Federer, with his record-setting 20 Grand Slam titles and unmatched elegance, brought grace to every court he played on. Nadal, with his 22 Grand Slam titles, including 14 French Open victories, showcased extraordinary ability and skill. Together, they exemplify the pinnacle of athleticism and dedication.
“I know how many important icons have been part of this campaign, so for me personally, being part of it is something that I am very proud of, especially sharing it with Roger; he has been my biggest rival and now a close friend today. In my career, I achieved more than I ever dreamt of, so at the end of the day, the legacy in terms of human beings is the most important value,” said Nadal in a statement.
Past icons for the Core Values campaign include Angelina Jolie, Buzz Aldrin, Jim Lovell, Sally Ride, and Catherine Deneuve, to name a few. Previous athletes featured in this campaign, include soccer icons Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“It has been 17 years since I launched the first Core Values campaign with Antoine Arnault, and I am delighted to revive this iconic series," said Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, in a release. "Each Core Values chapter celebrates Louis Vuitton’s legacy of travel, of working with exceptional people, and of transmission—both physical and emotional. It has been brilliant to work with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on this new story—both inspirational athletes, fierce friends, and testaments to the discipline and excellence of their own personal sporting journeys.”
