Lily Collins Reveals She Auditioned for 'Gossip Girl'
The actress muses on the audition process and the different trajectory her life would have taken had she been chosen.
In a recent interview with The Jess Cagle Show, Lily Collins surprised audiences by sharing that she auditioned for the cast of Gossip Girl at the age of 17. Collins vyed for the role of Jenny Humphrey, the rebellious little sister of the series.
As all fans of the series know, the role went to actress Taylor Momsen, but Collins reveals that she got pretty far in the process. "I auditioned for Gossip Girl and came very close to passing. (...) Oh, I wanted to so much. But everything happens for a reason," she recalled.
In addition, the actress reflects on how her life would have taken a completely different course if she had joined the cast of the series stating, "my life would have been very different. I mean, I would have moved to New York. I wouldn't have been able to finish high school. I was 17 or something."
