What's on Oscar de la Renta Designer Laura Kim's Holiday Wishlist
The co-Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta and Monse is all about beauty and self-care this holiday season.
The holidays are a time for family, friends, and festivities. As the end of the year comes into full focus, Laura Kim, co-Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta and Monse, is finding the reason for the season with her loved ones. "Surrounding myself with the people I love is my favorite way to get into the holiday spirit," she says.
As this time of year is ripe with celebration and tradition, as a member of NYC's fashion set, Kim's traditions, naturally, air of the right side of chic. For one, every year, her co-Creative Director Fernando Garcia buys five pairs of stilettos for her to try on and tells her to pick two as her Christmas gift. "The tradition ends up working in my favor though as every year he forgets to return the three stilettos I didn't choose, which results in me getting all five. It's a tradition I hope he continues forever."
While Kim could easily show off her fancy new footwear at a Christmas Day gathering, she prefers to use her holiday to travel. "I have adopted the holiday tradition of traveling somewhere I've never been before," she explains. "Visiting new places is a great way to feel gratitude for all the world has to offer and appreciation for the life I have built in NYC."
As the holidays come into full focus, whether you're spending sipping cocktails on a beach far, far away from your email or staying close to home, there's no shame in admitting you're still putting the finishing touches on your wishlist. Luckily, for anyone still searching for inspiration from a trusted source, Kim is giving L'OFFICIEL an inside look at what she's hoping to find under her tree this season.
