Kristen Stewart Still Loves her 'Twilight' Wedding Dress
The actress said Bella Swan's wedding dress in the series would have been 'the one' if she were to choose a classic style for her own nuptials.
During a recent interview with WhoWhatWear , Kristen Stewart confided that she had a particular fondness for the wedding dress she wore in Twilight: Chapter 4 - Revelations Part 1, when she was playing Bella Swan, opposite Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen. “I love this dress so much,” the Spencer star said of the sumptuous white crepe satin and Chantilly lace gown, designed by renowned wedding dress designer Carolina Herrera.
The wedding dress itself is iconic for Twilight fans, with a scoop neck and an elegant sheer back, ensconced in lace. In the film, the wedding dress was paired with a long veil fastened with a hair clip.
“I remember when I put on the dress,” Stewart recalled. "I was hiding in a room with heaters and I was like, 'It's too hot in here and my makeup is melting.' And the crews were like, 'We won't be ready for 30 minutes.' I thought to myself: 'But I'm ready now. This is the moment when I can play the bride!'"
Stewart, who is currently planning her wedding to partner Dylan Meyer, said the Twiilight wedding gown was the kind of "classic wedding dress" she could imagine herself wearing to her own wedding ceremony. “Yes, I think if I had to wear a classic wedding dress, this would be it,” she shared. She noted, however, that she wouldn't wear something like that now. Her style—especially this last week during her Love Lies Bleeding press tour—is much edgier.
One might surmise that Stewart would wear Chanel to her own nuptials, not a Carolina Herrera wedding dress, given her close relations with the fashion house, but only time will tell. Though sources say Stewart is "very in love," Meyer and Stewart have seemingly not set a date yet. The couple met on a film set in 2013 and began dating in 2019. Kristen Stewart confirmed that she and her life partner got engaged in November 2021 on The Howard Stern Show from SiriusXM. During the interview, the actress said Meyer "succeeded" in the proposal. “It was really cute, she did really well,” admitted the actress. “We’re getting married, it’s happening.”
