Kith & Tag Heuer Collaborates To Unveil 10 Limited Edition Watches

A new capsule collection between Tag Heuer and Kith is offering a collection of 10 limited-edition watches inspired by Formula 1, marking the first return of the Swiss watchmaker's Formula 1 line since 1986. The last release of the Formula 1 line quickly became a collector's favorite. Now, nearly 40 years later, Tag Heuer has tapped streetwear brand Kith to create a new collection. Fusing both the classic and contemporary tastes of Tag Heuer and Kith, the watches feature motifs and insignias from both brands on the dial, strap, and case back. Kith's branding can also be seen through the brand's motto, "Just Us," written on the dial. 

Kith founder Ronnie Fieg has a passion for vintage watches, making his initiative to work with Tag Heuer both a personal and professional milestone. 

“There’s a part of me that truly believes our partnership with Tag Heuer was fate," Fieg told Highsnobiety. "I just so happened to be sitting next to Frederic Arnault at a dinner, which led to us discussing watches and me telling him the story of my first-ever watch being a Tag Heuer Formula 1. This conversation then evolved into our brands working together to bring back that same watch through a modern lens."

Tag Heuer has been a part of the history of horology for over 160 years. The brand was founded in 1860 and has been committed to innovative watchmaking ever since. The brand was the first to feature turning date discs on its dial with the 1965 Dato 45. However, aside from Tag Heuer’s storied history, their ability to craft exclusive collections in limited quantities is what made their watches coveted collectibles. For those who are avid watch collectors, getting these pieces, inspired by the attractive aesthetics of Formula 1 racecars, may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. 

Seven of the watches available in the collection are exclusive to Kith's stores. Of that set, only 250 watches with colored rubber straps are available for sale, while the watches featuring steel bracelets are limited to 350 pieces. Tag Heuer owns two exclusive models within the collection, which include the black-bezel blue and green Formula 1 watches. These watches are limited to 850 pieces. The watch that Kith and Tag Heuer share together is also only available in a limited quantity, with only 1,350 pieces available worldwide for sale.

Each watch retails for $1,500. These pieces are now available for sale via Tag Heuer and Kith’s respective websites.
