Mariacarla Boscono Presents Winter Capsule Collection with K-Way
L'OFFICIEL speaks with the Italian supermodel about her equally functional and feminine collection for the adventurous brand.
In a celebration of femininity and the beauty of the female body, supermodel Mariacarla Boscono and outerwear brand K-Way come together to develop a functional and fabulous winter-wear collection, launching today.
A nod to her previous Spring/Summer 2021 capsule with the brand, this cold-weather collaboration allows the modern woman to face the winter months with freedom and sensuality.
"With this collection, you must be covered up, but it is still revealing," Boscono tells L'OFFICIEL of her most recent work with K-Way, which marks a balance between unquestionable practicality and beauty. The pieces feature K-Way's knack for technical garments and act as a precursor to the brand's Action line for Fall/Winter 2022, which is dedicated to skiing and other winter sports.
Whether you are hitting the slopes in style or embarking on a snowy stroll, the pieces within the capsule allow one to move freely without the restriction of traditionally heavy winter-wear.
“You are beautiful, but comfortable beautiful,” Boscono says of her work with K-Way, a brand both her and her daughter have been able to grow up with.
While the focus of the collection is a high-tech, full-body zip-up ski suit, which Boscono refers to as the “catsuit”, all pieces within the collection are made to accentuate the body while also keeping one warm and protected against the cold.
"I think the main piece of the collection is absolutely amazing I see myself going to New York in that. You have a coat, but it's even better than your coat," Boscono shares. "I find the piece I did for K-Way has multi-tasks—it can serve many types of things."
Mindfully created to flatter all body shapes and sizes—whether or not they prefer to participate in serious winter sport—Boscono's collection refuses to sacrifice style for practicality.
Inspired by the model and mother's appreciation for winter scenery and hiking through snowy mountains, the weather-resistant collection allows one to remain comfortable and in-the-moment.
"I feel like it can embrace any age and any type of women's body," Boscono says.
