Juicy Couture Joins New York Fashion Week
As if the upcoming NYFW isn’t already odd enough — with Alexander Wang and other designers opting out — Juicy Couture will make its debut on the runway on February 8. Nineties kids, you can start taking out those velour tracksuits now.
The brand came back to life when Authentic Brands Group acquired it and brought in celebrity stylist, Jamie Mizrahi, as creative director last year. The Californian brand also collaborated with Vetements, for its Spring 2017 ready-to-wear show.
According to Business of Fashion, the Fall 2018 collection will include pieces from both Juicy Couture Black Label and Juicy by Juicy Couture, the more casual line. “Jamie has enlisted a unique approach to design where she has tapped into the Juicy archives modernizing design elements that made Juicy Couture so iconic,” told Natasha Fishman, executive vice president of marketing at ABG, to BoF.
Now seems like the perfect time for Juicy Couture, with the hype of the '90s and full-blown logos everywhere. Maybe we might even see the tracksuit’s icons on the front row— Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Mariah Carey? Yes please!
