The year just started, but it’s already been busy for King Combs. Just last week, Diddy’s son, Christian “King” Combs, opened Dolce & Gabbana’s show in Milan. D&G also announced that the 19-year-old will be the face of the brand’s spring 2018 campaign. And now, IMG models is signing with Combs for a worldwide representation.
His passion for the industry doesn’t stop at the catwalks, however. Combs told W Magazine last year that he's working on a collection with his dad for Sean John, P. Diddy’s clothing label. Further following in his father's footsteps, the hip-hop artist also released a new single, “Feeling Savage,” in December and plans to launch his first official album this year.
The signing, much like the music career, should come as little surprise to anyone. Celebrity children-turned-models is now common place on runways and ad campaigns, and, especially, magazines. The draw, of course, is clout. You don't need to follow Kris Jenner or Yolanda Hadid to know that both are always gushing over the gigs of their children to millions of followers. More often than not, the offspring have more substantial followings of their own. The days of being discovered at an airport (like Kate Moss) or on a public sidewalk (Naomi Campbell) are long behind us.
