Hood By Air Returns to Ready-to-Wear With Naomi Campbell-Fronted Campaign

Shayne Oliver's Hood by Air returns this season with The Prologue collection, and a fresh campaign featuring supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Hood by Air is re-entering the ready-to-wear space. Last year, the brand announced it would be relaunching with a number of new creative ventures after the brand went on pause in 2017. First introduced in 2006, the brand became known for its subversive, gender-bending style and was one of the hottest tickets at New York Fashion Week.

Ahead of its upcoming collection, titled The Prologue, Hood by Air unveils a new campaign starring Naomi Campbell. Lensed by Luis Alberto Rodriguez, the black and white images show the supermodel with a shaggy pixie cut, dressed in leather outerwear.

The new collection is designer Shayne Oliver's first RTW collection for the brand since 2017. It is also the first of three installments, which are separated by the themes of Mother, Veteran, and Merch. Campbell wears looks from the Mother collection, which is inspired by women who have had an impact on Oliver's life.

Hood by Air announced the collection with Instagram posts declaring "Mother is coming." While no further details have been shared, you can expect something exciting as Oliver was known for creating performative runway shows. Now in a mostly digital fashion month, the designer will have to adjust like many others, but if he's proven anything in the past, it's that he's an innovative force.
