Gucci Goes to Hollywood for the Spring/Summer 2022 Love Parade
Alessandro Michele showcases the latest Gucci collection down Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Gucci pulled the biggest star-studded extravaganza with this year's Gucci Love Parade, with A-list attendees including Billie Eilish, Gwyneth Paltrow, Salma Hayek, Miley Cyrus, and many more, as well as major runway appearances by Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin and House of Gucci actor Jared Leto. Models donned the Hollywood Walk of Fame in fashion's boldest looks—complete with tiaras, satin suits, feather boas, and aviator glasses for Spring/Summer 2022.
Regarded for reimagining the vision of the Italian luxury house, Alessandro Michele encapsulated the essence of old Hollywood and classic Americana through his latest collection. Michele expanded on his inspiration for the collection in the show notes referencing his childhood days listening to his mother, who worked as an assistant in a film production company, tell him tales about the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. "There was the alabaster paleness of Marilyn Monroe…There were the black satin gloves of Rita Hayworth and Veronica Lake’s velvet hair, as well as the bewitching allure of Rock Hudson and Kim Novak’s dizzying transformative power. Everything felt like a fairy tale," said the designer.
