Stars Go for the Gold with 2021 Oscars Looks

The glitz and glamor of Hollywood make its grand return with the 2021 Academy Awards—the first fully in-person award show since the COVID-19 pandemic—and the fashion is in full force. Many of your favorite celebrities hit the red carpet in some of this year's best looks, taking inspiration from the ceremony itself. As all of the nominees are competing to win a gold Oscar man statuette, some of the year's top performers opted to don their best golden frocks as an homage to the occasion.

Promising Young Woman star Carey Mulligan stepped out in the closing look for Valentino's Spring/Summer 2021 Haute Couture runway show. The glittering bandeau top and voluminous, high-waisted skirt leave a sliver of the actress' midriff exposed, taking on another one of this season's biggest trends.

One of Mulligan's fellow Best Actress nominees, Andra Day, the star of United States Vs. Billie Holiday, arrived in a custom-made Vera Wang Haute Couture gown with an asymmetrical cutout on her midsection. When creating the garment, Wang employed a welder as the entire dress is made of metal.

One Night in Miami... actor Leslie Odom Jr. continued his run of eye-catching award show looks with a head-to-toe gold suit from Brioni. Tonight, he is nominated in the Best Actor category for his role as Sam Cookie in the Regina King-directed film.
