The Italian designer returned to New York to present the collection. It was a grand fashion affair.

A star-studded, black-tie evening was the only way to welcome <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/tags/giorgioarmani">Giorgio Armani</a> back stateside.
The 90-year-old designer presented a <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/tags/spring-summer-2025">Spring/Summer 2025</a> collection that paid tribute to New York City's sartorial characters through the ages &mdash; all while embodying an elegance and classic sense of cool. Staged on Thursday night at the Park Avenue Armory, across 90 looks on the runway, there was a range from flowy silhouettes to sophisticated eveningwear.
"New York has always fascinated me. I first became aware of it through the films I watched as a young man &ndash; films that shaped the way I viewed the world. It later became the first metropolis to embrace my style, a style that came to symbolize a moment of cultural and social change," Armani <a href="https://ww.fashionnetwork.com/news/Exclusive-giorgio-armani-on-one-night-only-in-new-york,1672626.html">told Fashion Network</a>. "This connection has made my relationship with the city truly special."
He, accordingly, incorporated a cinematic flair to the clothes and to the atmosphere, hosting approximately 650 guests. The runway opened with soft colors, like beiges and gray, and stayed true to this refined palette, later adding blush and powder blue to the mix. Some garments echo fashions of the 1930s while others feel more contemporary. Silk pantsuits, leather coats, and relaxed jackets take on a liquid-like quality. Opulent satins in boudoir-inspired suits and draped gowns posses a shimmer. There was a clear focus on craft via intricate embroideries.
The show was highly anticipated, especially for being off the fashion week calendar and being far from Milan, where Armani usually shows. It also celebrated his store opening&nbsp; doors again, alongside his eponymous restuarant and apartments, all on Madison Avenue. Celebrities like Pamela Anderson and Meghann Fahy sat front row, getting a prima vista at Chaka Khan's moving performance that closed the night.
