The result of the sharp and complementary visions of its co-founders, streetstyle stars Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio, the style of the Italian label The Attico has quickly established itself in the wardrobe of the most stylish personalities on the planet, including that of the singer Dua Lipa and models Hailey Bieber and Jourdan Dunn. At a time of social restrictions, the two expert influencers-turned-designers have unveiled a new chapter diametrically opposed to their usual wardrobe: leisurewear. The Life at Large collection consists of timeless pieces which, in addition to being ultra- comfortable, are aimed at an endless range of people. Colorful and optimistic, it marks the label's entry into a new dimension. L'OFFICIEL speaks with Tordini and Ambrosio to learn more about their approach.

L'OFFICIEL: As Italian fashion and party girls, what did this "new normal" teach you—as individuals but also as entrepreneurs?

Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio: This pandemic has put everything on hold, but at the same time it is also hastening change. We are living in this moment for both personal and professional growth. After all, in life you must never stop and, even in difficult moments, seize the opportunity to learn from what is happening all around you.

L'O: The Spring/Summer 2021 capsule is about elevated off-duty pieces—what was your inspiration behind this new chapter?

GT and GA: This project stems from the desire to embrace the younger generation and a wider audience at a time when inclusiveness is an important message to communicate. We shot the campaign with a wide selection of non-professional models recruited through a call to action on our social media. The response was amazing, a lot of them travelling just to participate in the casting. This experience has reinforced our idea of believing that The Attico can be a community.

L'O: It's exciting to see more inclusivity and unisex pieces—is this new direction a result of the past few months? Do you think it allowed you to sit back, observe, and push your brand into new territories?

GT and GA: Yes, surely timeframes have expanded, giving us the opportunity to think in a new, slower but also deeper, dimensions. Life at Large is the result of this moment of reflection that led us to believe that everyone is welcome, regardless of size, age, gender, or sexuality.

L'O: Life at Large is all about leisure—what do YOU do to wind down after a hectic week?

GT and GA: At this time, when we obviously cannot stay out much, we take a little time for ourselves by taking pilates workout classes online, meditation and mindfulness, taking care of our bodies, reading and listening to a lot of music.

L'O: What's your favorite thing to do on a Sunday?

GT and GA: If we were to respond thinking of life a year ago, the answer would be an out-of-town lunch with friends.

Now, however, we are obsessed with the Clubhouse app, we often organize conversations with our friends and it is nice to share it with those who follow us. As a matter of fact, on the day of the capsule’s launch there will be an open conversation on our Clubhouse channel where we will be present as well as the talent involved in the campaign.
