On Tuesday, Fran Drescher took to Instagram to upload a photo of her wearing the iconic rainbow-striped Moschino vest that her beloved The Nanny character, Fran Fine, wore on television in the '90s.
Drescher captured the world's attention 28 years ago with the debut of her character's unapologetic statement style and hyperfeminine flair. Ms. Fine's coveted wardrobe included all things Chanel, Mugler, Marc Jacobs, and of course, Moschino.
Wearing the infamous, eye-catching vest over a black turtleneck, the 63-year-old actress completed her look with Fran Fine-inspired makeup and loosely curled hair. In her caption, Drescher wrote that the garment's comeback was prompted by a The Nanny photoshoot she had done for both HBO Max as well as her nonprofit organization, Cancer Schmancer, which seeks to save lives by advocating for healthcare reform, and is hosting the Fran Jam Music Festival on June 20.
Drescher herself beat cancer 21 years ago and has since become an advocate for those who are currently struggling or have struggled with the disease. An inspiration to many, the actress lit up fans' screens with her unexpected post, which evoked feelings of nostalgia among followers of hers who grew up watching The Nanny and instantly recognized the garment.

Emmy-award-winning The Nanny costume designer Brenda Cooper told Yahoo! News in a 2018 interview regarding her role, "I didnât get any direction, but I knew exactly what to do, and Fran just let me do it...I intentionally wanted to make a statement of style, wit, and humor, all combined...I wanted color, I wanted it to be sexy."
