Ferragamo’s Spring/Summer 2025 Takes Inspiration From the World of Dance
Ferragamo's Spring/Summer 2025 collection takes inspiration from the world of dance, creating a parallel between his personal history and the heritage of Salvatore Ferragamo.
The starting point for this collection is the Ferragamo archive, which includes pieces Salvatore Ferragamo created for ballerina and anthropologist Katherine Dunham, as well as custom-made slippers for Rudolf Nureyev from the 1980s. “I have always incorporated different historical periods into my work, periods in which I can recognize myself and my heritage,” says creative director Maximillian Davis. “I looked for similarities with Ferragamo, and the beauty of this brand is that there are so many stories that you can relate to. Every shoe has its own meaning; every shoe has a story."
A diverse Spring/Summer 2025 collection takes center stage in a circular space framed by white curtains. The creative director’s Caribbean roots are evident in the frayed, stone-washed denim, organic silhouettes, and a color palette that fuses vibrant, saturated tones with earthy shades and deep sea blues.
Cashmere and cotton garments become a second skin on the catwalk, inspired by dancers' costumes. These pieces are layered and knotted, while freedom of movement is conveyed through oversized silhouettes like opera coats and parachute dresses. Footwear also sees fresh designs, including the Eva décolleté and graphic sandals, both drawing from ballerina influences. Among the standout accessories are the softened Hug Bag and the Foulard Bag, inspired by the elegant draping of scarves.
Special guests in the front row included Aron Piper, Mahmood, Solange, and Marina Abramović. This collection represents a blend of the brand's archive, Davis' creative vision, and his personal heritage.
